After the deadline, a missing line or the wrong word is enough.
for unfair competition
§§ 5a, 5 UWGYour product pages do not show the legally required guarantee notice.
You also advertise products as „klimaneutral“ without recognised proof.

This is the letter Konforma keeps from ever reaching you.
How it works.
Install it, done. Konforma handles the rest on its own: no code, no developers, no theme rebuild.
Install
One click in the Shopify App Store. No theme edits.
The disclosures appear on their own
The legal-guarantee notice and GARAN label stand to spec on every product page, before the buy button.
Your catalog gets checked
The scanner reads your whole catalog and shows every finding with the legal basis and a lower-risk wording.
“Didn’t they scrap the label thing?”No.
What was withdrawn is the separate Green Claims Directive. The EmpCo directive still applies and is enforced from 27 September 2026, as evidenced by Germany’s Third UWG Amendment Act (Federal Law Gazette I, 19 Feb 2026).

FAQ
Short and concrete, the key questions about EmpCo and Konforma.
When does EmpCo apply to my Shopify shop?
EmpCo applies across the EU from 27 September 2026. In Germany it is transposed by the Third UWG Amendment Act (Federal Law Gazette I, 19 Feb 2026). From then, every B2C online shop must show the legal-guarantee notice on the product page.
Isn’t a link to the guarantee terms enough?
No. The notice must appear as an embedded graphic on the product page itself, before the buy button. A link or a dropdown does not satisfy the information duty.
What’s so risky about a word like “klimaneutral”?
Blanket environmental claims without recognised proof count as an unfair commercial practice. In Germany a competitor can send you a cease-and-desist (Abmahnung), and recover their costs. Konforma finds the risky wording before it costs you.
Wasn’t EmpCo scrapped?
That is a mix-up with the separate Green Claims Directive, which was withdrawn. The EmpCo directive (2024/825) still applies and is enforced from 27 Sep 2026.
Does Konforma process customer data?
No. Konforma requests no customer-data scopes and stores no personal data of your customers.
Do I need to write code?
No. Konforma installs as a Shopify app and adds the labels automatically on every product page. No theme editing, no developer.
